With Christmas done and dusted for another year (didn't that go quick?!) it's time to refresh our window display! With the stunning weather Wellington's been having lately we though it appropriate to go for a boho-beach theme so we can at least pretend that we're sipping cocktails on a tropical island.
I came across a gorgeous little cane and glass table in near-perfect condition on TradeMe that I just HAD to have. I hit the 'Buy Now' button and picked it up the same night (don't you just love impulse buys?!). It's almost identical to one my family had in the 90s, which just goes to show how fast design trends recycle themselves.
A little more refined this time around, we've used the table as our inspiration for our boho-tropical window. Doubling down on the natural textures we've added our best-selling Alani rattan mirrors and Anguila water hyacinth/salmon pink linen table lamp from Amalfi Homewares with our bamboo and gold stool set from Madam Stoltz.
If you've ever visited our Tory Street store then you'll know we have a little bit of an obsession with jute (the smell perhaps?). Our Adorn round jute rugs from Amalfi Homewares are available in two sizes, are SO easy to keep clean (just give them a good whack outside every other week) and insanely durable. Alongside the Carrie jute table runner and jute plait cushion (also from Amalfi Homewares) playing off against the softer macrame lampshade and woven rope chair from Madam Stoltz, we're loving the patterns and textures of this little oasis.
We love a good linen throw - perfect for all seasons - and this pale blush/nude stunner from Madam Stoltz helps to soften the space, reflected in the salmon hues of the linen lampshade and muted lilac tones of our Peony Roses IXXI artwork.
Something we like to focus on with every window display is how you can style your pet's necessities to tie in with your decor. The best place to start? Their bowls! Chuck out those BPA-leeching plastic things from the supermarket and upgrade to a quality bowl that's made to last.
Our ceramic Meow cat bowls from Fringe Studio's Pet Shop are proving a very popular and affordable option. These cuties are available in blush, ochre and grey. If you're after something a little more modern you can't go past the raised wire bowls from Bendo. Available in two sizes and two metal stand options (black and copper), these bowls are perfect for any sized pet and lessen the strain on their necks.
The other obvious choice is their bed. Don't settle for something covered in paw prints and bones (why??) and choose something that you'd be proud to have in your bedroom or living room. Bruce, our attention-grabbing grey felt shark bed always hits the mark. Or opt for a cool cotton teepee from Huts & Bay, perfect for summer naps!
