Our mission is to get pet owners to start thinking about the items they buy for their pets in the same way they would buy something for themselves or their homes. We believe in harmony between function and design and that pets have become family in more ways than one.

Smack Bang opened its doors in Wellington, New Zealand on the 2nd of October 2017 and launched online in November 2017. Amelia, along with her two boys, Gus and Finn (Maltese x Shih Tzus) found a home on Tory Street and then later moved to College Street. Early 2025, Amelia was closing Smack Bang.

That's where we come in. In two twists of fate, Smack Bang came into our lives. Hi everyone, we're Nicola, Riky and Bao (coincidentally a Maltese x Shih Tzu) and we are the proud new owners of Smack Bang! Being Wellington born and bred, we had always admired the Smack Bang business; its store and the immense reputation and experience Smack Bang has brought to our city. We couldn't imagine Wellington without it and knew it needed to keep going. 

Whilst we have only launched online, we are determined to come back into a physical store and pick up where Smack Bang left off. Our knowledge of the strong experiences in store and the amazing spirit of the community will keep us striving to come back in person. We cannot do this without you, so please support local. 

Our aim is to stock amazing small NZ businesses mixed with overseas cool kids so we will continue to scour the globe for the coolest, on-trend, high quality products that we're absolutely obsessed with, and we hope you love them too!
