This week is Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori language week)! With help from @badgalniwa we’ve made a list of basic Tonotono Kurī (dog commands) to teach your pup!
To teach them the new words, say the new command followed immediately by your usual command (eg E noho, sit), praise and reward as they comply. Repeat this several times and in different locations/situations (like while playing or out for walkies). Slowly transition to using the new command only and give them HEAPS of praise and reward when they get it. Be patient and consistent and soon you’ll have a bi-lingual Kurī! 🐶
